Gwyn founded the company in the late 1980’s and strived to make it the strong family business it is today. Diversifying from farming, he formed a small syndicate and started setting his own eggs to supply it, from their his hard work and dedication along with the taking the risk has allowed him to establish a company at the forefront of the game shooting industry. He is extremely proud of the team and in recent years has managed to go back in history and develop the farm side of the business.
Ann has worked alongside Gwyn from the start and has had a huge impact in the shape and growth of the family business. Ann’s family routes were in the farming and hospitality industry, so building Bettws Hall alongside her husband whilst looking after her children, was something she is passionate about from the beginning. With her love of entertaining and superb cooking along with the mindset of her ‘glass is half full’ you will quickly realise that she is the glue that holds it all together.
Will has certainly followed in his father’s footsteps! From a young age he had a passion for the shooting industry. He would keeper the home shoot, Bettws Hall before and after school and swiftly moved to Headkeeper at the Brigands at the age of 17. Over the years, Will has played a huge role in improving the shoots, whilst also helping the business diversify in other areas. Will now oversees the game farm operations to make sure the product at the end of the day exceeds all expectations!
Like her brother, Amy has grown up with the work ethic of her parents from the time she could walk, you would often find Amy helping Ann in the kitchen baking, or picking eggs. Since then, she has studied Business Management at Cardiff University and travelled to Australia and America. In 2014, she returned to the family business and now manages the accounts and day-to-day for the company. Whether it be crating poults, hosting days, dealing with the daily administrative operations; Amy’s there!
Marc joined the Bettws Hall team in 2019 as Gunroom Manager, growing up on the doorstep of the Vaynor Estate, he has an integral understanding of the business and its marketing aims as well as managing the company's shoot sales. Marc’s wide ranging experience in sales, hospitality, game rearing and shooting have allowed for our on-site gunroom to become a central part of the Bettws Hall experience. On arrival at the Lodges, you are sure of a warm welcome and a tour of the gunroom by Marc.
Joe Drew join the company in 2023 heading up our Rural Sales department which covers chicks, poults and Kawasaki ATVs. Joe has been a keen sportsman since a young age with experience in the field and also farms locally here in Mid-Wales with his family.
Nigel has been a stalwart in the Bettws Hall set up, bringing with him a wealth of rearing and hosting knowledge. Looking after all of our rearers in the off-season and hosting days across the estates during the shooting season.
Responsible for the overseeing of the Bettws shooting portfolio working closely with keepers and land owners to ensure we continue to produce exceptional sporting experiences. You will also find Anthony hosting days across our shooting portfolio and managing our rearing sites in the summer months.
Lee joined Bettws Hall in 2022, overseeing our renowned hospitality for both our self-catering guests and shooting clients. With a proven background in 5-star customer service and wedding planning, Lee's skills will help ensure Bettws remain the market-leader in delivering the experience.
Tracey has been with the company for nearly 20 years, her knowledge of hatching pheasant and partridge chicks is a real asset to the operation. Tracey oversees the entire process from receiving the eggs, through to setting, incubation, hatching, grading and transporting. Due to our business, this role is seasonal so out of the hatching season you will find Tracey in our shoot office dealing with all your shoot day requirements, whether that be loaders, accommodation or any other requirements.
Jack recently joined the company in 2023 from Harper Adams University. Growing up on his family farm in Northern Ireland, Jack has a well-rounded understanding of country sports and gamefarming, and is a real asset to our sporting and gamefarm departments.
Ashley joined Bettws in 2022 as a seasonal chef in our lodges and has since grown into the company to now lead our hospitality throughout all seasons including shoot clients and self-catering guests.
Amy has grown up in Bettws and has played a part within the company since 2014, initially working at the local pub, Bull & Heifer then in our gunroom and now as head of self-catering sales and company receptionist. Amy is a lady of many talents, and her willingness to learn and enthusiasm for the company meant that she now also looks after the farm administration for Gwyn, with the latest project being ‘Cow Tinder’ which was a huge success!
Louise joined the team in 2018 and has become an integral member in our accounts department.
Lora joined the Bettws Hall team in 2021 and plays an important role in both our accounts department whilst also acting as the company receptionist.
Talita joined Bettws Hall in 2024 as part of our Kawasaki team, looking after the logistics of our fleet and administration and work flows of our Kawasakis.
Jonathan joined the company in 2015 after working for a local country retailer, he was the perfect fit to join our team and help develop our stores which is the hub for our rearing programme, along with the workshop where our Kawasaki Dealership is run from. Jonathan’s organizational skills, has the department he runs to become more efficient and streamline over the years! Whether it is dealing with the construction team, or purchasing ATV’s - Jonathan's your man!
Andrea joined our team in 2022 as our HR Manager looking after the daily processes of ensuring our operations meet the required Human Resource regulations.
